My Skincare Routine!

I'm always asked about what sort of skincare I use on a daily basis. For starters, my skin recently has been the best it has ever been (post-puberty) and I have come a looong way from far-from-perfect skin. I've always had extremely sensitive and acne-prone skin, and after trying out many different types of products, from drugstore brands all the way to extremely high-end brands, I've finally been able to figure out the best routine for me. Interestingly enough, my skincare routine consists of products that work amazingly without the hefty price tag. Generally, I find that a hefty price tag on beauty products don't necessarily equate to high-quality or effectiveness. Take it from a person who works in the beauty industry ;)

So the first product I use to cleanse my skin (both AM & PM) is the Aveda Botanical Kinetics Purifying Gel Cleanser. I've been using this product for about 2 years now, and I have never come across a product that works as well as this and is also great for sensitive skin. You can cleanse your skin 5 times with this product, and you'll never feel that tight feeling afterward. It's an amazing product, it smells great, and it is derived from natural ingredients!

The next products I use are from the brand Mario Badescu. I use a cotton pad to sweep the Glycolic Acid Toner on my skin, and then top it off with a couple of spritzes of the Aloe, Herbs, and Rosewater Facial Spray. Glycolic acid is a great solution for people who have acne-prone, dull, scarred, uneven skin, and even fine lines. It helps to promote cell-turnover to ultimately reveal more radiant and smoother skin. I've been using glycolic acid for years now - one product called Pixi Glow Tonic, notedly a holy-grail product for many, is also an amazing one to try if you're feeling like broadening your horizons a bit.

For the mornings after I cleanse, I use a Vitamin C serum (with added Vitamin E and hyaluronic acid) and I just want to say how incredible this stuff is. I've had pretty bad sun damage and hyperpigmentation on my face, and this is the only product that actually helps to fix it. It has changed my skin dramatically.

I used to use the more pricey Vitamin C serum by Mario Badescu, but I find that this TruSkin version works just as well, if not better (for less than half the price!). On top of that, I put on another serum by Chanel which is called Hydra Beauty Micro Serum - this stuff works really well by moisturizing the skin without any heaviness. It's perfect for mornings and under makeup, and it smells insanely good as well.

My skin has been super dry lately due to the winter. So for night time, I use a really heavy moisturizer - this one is the classic Nivea Creme. A lot of people find many similarities with this and Creme de La Mer, but this Nivea is literally about 2% of the price of La Mer. I've used La Mer cream before, but to be honest with you, I find this Nivea creme to be just as amazing and it doesn't cost an arm and a leg to buy. I bought this cream in Europe, where it is made in Germany. I highly recommend this version as opposed to the one that is made in Mexico (they are mostly sold here in the US). If you can get your hands on the one made in Germany, please do! If not, I'm sure the other one works fine as well. Try it out!

For the last product, I want to show you what I've been using on the rest of my body lately. I wouldn't be showing you if it wasn't amazing. It is a body oil from &OtherStories. It's an incredibly light oil that smells ridiculously insane - like coconut and vanilla (but not sickly sweet). I'm literally obsessed with this stuff right now. I put it all over my body after a shower, and it moisturizes my skin without feeling too heavy. On top of that, I just smell delicious.

And that concludes my skincare routine! I hope you test out these products for yourself, and let me know what you think of them :)

See you soon for another post!
