Casually Dramatic: A Makeup Look

Did I ever tell you guys how much I love makeup!? Ever since I was super young, I've always had an innate interest in makeup - like from the way it was packaged to the way it applied. I was always so in awe with how people created flawless eye looks and sculpted/contoured their faces to perfection. Funnily enough, MY makeup routine is generally pretty boring. I'm not one to get too experimental with my makeup, although I do love trying out new beauty products when they launch. Ultimately, I know what looks best on me and I don't normally skew away from that (apart from photoshoots and stuff). But when I'm going out, I do like to amplify my look and try something new - like maybe a really bold lip or a really smokey eye with defined brows.

With this look I did today, I was in the mood to create a "modern" face, and juxtapose the ideas of casual and dramatic. While I have flawless skin as my base, I did a loosely-done smokey eye with really defined bold brows and a more neutral-hued lip. I added some freckles to my face to maintain the casual look I was going for. While I naturally have freckles, it's a different kind of look when you're putting them over your foundation. You look flawless and glam, but in a really modern and casual way - if that makes sense.

Here are all the products I used to create this look:

I love love this La Mer Soft Fluid foundation in Linen 13. It is definitely one of the best foundations I've tried to date, but it is very pricey as far as foundation goes. I buff this all over my face with a rounded kabuki brush. I can do a full review on this soon!

Maybelline Fit Me concealer in 5 Fair. This is a really great, solid go-to concealer. I put this in a V-format under my eyes, on the bridge of my nose, and a bit in the center of my forehead, and blend!

Too Faced Cocoa Powder Foundation in Fair. Literally, the best powder I've ever tried in my entire life. I sweep this all over my face with a round brush.

Too Faced Cocoa Powder Matte Bronzer in Medium/Deep. I contour with a contour brush from ELF. I do the typical cheekbone contour and then brush on the outer perimeter of my forehead and my jawline. I also contour my nose because girl, I got a bulbous nose. Also, they recently changed to a really cute new packaging!

I use the MAC Trip The Light Fantastic Powder in Luna Luster to highlight the bridge and tip of my nose, and my upper cheekbones.

I use the Rimmel London brow pencil in Black Brown. I've been using this product for almost 10 years now. Still haven't changed! I use this product to draw and fill in the sparse areas. I also use this product to dot my freckles on. I use my fingers to blend them in a bit and then I got over the whole freckled area with a light dusting of powder. I then use the Bobbi Brown Long Wear Brow Gel in Gray to keep the brow hairs in place.

For blush, I used the MAC Unconventional Blush. It's a beautiful light lilac color that goes well on any skintone. It's a must in your collection!

For lipcolor, I used a combination of my trusty Stila Matte Lipcolor in Patina (a beautiful dusty rose color) in the center of my lips, and a Maybelline Matte Ink in Ruler to blend it out.

I used the Too Faced Sweet Peach palette to complete my eye look. I wanted it to be smokey but not too perfect, so I used small flat brushes to apply and then my fingers to blend them together. I highlighted, in white, the shades I used in this look.

Setting Spray:

I used the Too Faced Hangover 3-in-1 setting spray and mist all over my face! I love this stuff because it's hydrating yet locks in your makeup and leaves you looking super fresh and revived.

And the finished look:

I hope you guys enjoyed this fun makeup look and I hope it inspires you to create some awesome casual, yet glam makeup looks yourselves!

Love you guys!
